It's a parrot. That's pretty much all they do. If you don't want them to repeat something, you don't say it where they can hear you. Teach it some new words and phrases so it finds something else to latch on to.

Umm, that's why her ex's name (John, Joe, Jim, etc) would go before 'is a douchebag' " John is a douchebag" for example... Not that difficult. if I were her new boyfriend, I would get a kick out of that.
