Road rage

Today, my dog was riding my car's passenger seat. He clambered over onto my lap, causing me to lose control of the wheel for a few seconds. As I tried to knock him off me, I lost track of my speed, and ended up being pulled over for reckless driving. FML

Your dog was riding the seat? Why wasn't he riding IN the seat? No wonder you got distracted.

You should have pulled over to the side of the road to do that and used your hazard signals like a good motorist

You should know better than that, it is common sense that you DON'T have the dog in the front seat or this will happen! Well, common sense is not so common anymore sadly, just remember, do not have any animals in the front seat, weather it be a dog, a cat or Rebecca Black.

In what universe do you not deserve this? (FYI, what you did WAS reckless driving)

Dangerous for you, incredibly dangerous for your dog, and dangerous for all the people driving near you. Endangering people's lives because you're not responsible enough to restrain your dog? You definitely deserved at least that much.

Must have been Ruff getting that ticket.

This is why you should buckle your dog in the seat with an appropriate harness.

Im not trying to sound too harsh but you were irresponsible in the first place for not having your dog properly restrained. They make harnesses with a seat belt strap built in so dogs can ride safely in the car and in some states it is illegal not to have any restraints. I hope you can learn from this experience so neither you or your pet get hurt. Your best friend deserves to be safe and they can still enjoy car rides.

And to the people who say you don't need one just because your dog is well behaved you are also incorrect. I have an awesome dog who is well trained to sit in the back of the car and stay still but I still use a harness. Just because your dog is trained that doesn't mean he has been trained to drive the car, so accidents happen and it's not the dogs fault.

you definitely DID deserve it, you could've lost control of the car and killed someone, I hope you've learnt your lesson OP

What's worse is OP put their dog's life in danger by allowing them in the front seat. You always put your pets in the back seat so they don't cause accidents. It's for their safety and yours as well.

Dude, I had it under control until you started getting violent..

My dogs done that only I rear ended someone. Yay for high insuarance
