#32, if they work in a "right-to-work" state, that just means the employer has the right to fire at will with no cause. Pretty sucky. I want to know why you got fired instead of having some sort of disciplinary review first? That just seems extreme.
Do you have a time sheet or something similar? You can prove you werent there
This FML gave me a really good laugh. Sucks though - hopefully you'll resolve the situation. Shouldn't be too hard!
Never leave your stuff at work if you can't trust your co-workers. And yeah, like everyone said, wouldn't it be easy to prove you weren't working? seems kind of stupid...
Doesn't your workplace have a video camera to see who really did it? Couldn't the customer describe the person? Couldn't the boss tell that you didn't work that weekend? Anyone can accidentally leave a nametag at work, no one deserves that. A person who deserves something is your co worker who got you in trouble. That said, if your co workers did that, they probably didn't like you and wanted to stick it to you. We did that to this annoying bigger girl at work - we got paid breaks and Boss made sure her breaks were ralways during the busiest times and she always found a reason to pull her away from her lunch. Once she got up, someone 'accidentally' threw away her food. She at least got the hint and quit.
^ agreed. cameras help.

You can easily prove your innocence. Now if you tried that and still got fired, then it's a FYL.
file a complaint. prove that you weren't on the schedule for that day. then report your coworkers.
