Today, while on my driving test, the guy told me to pull over and do a U-turn. A few minutes later, he asked me to do another one. After the test, he said I'd failed because the second U-turn was illegal, and I should have refused to comply. I didn't know they're even allowed do that. FML

Why would he let you take an illegal turn, or even suggest it in the first place? Sounds to me like someone has to reread their job description

There is a psychological phenomenon called Proximation to Authority. You were a victim

Seriously? When you are doing a drivers TEST? Lol, I think you need to reread the definition. You are the one behind the wheel doing the test. He can't make you do anything illegal. I'd rather fail for refusing his order to do something illegal than for doing failing to read road signs and doing something like this. At least in that case I failed for doing the right thing.

They aren't allowed to do that it's illegal you can sue them for that

Yes, sue them for making you pay attention to road signs, how dare they...

When I took my test you had to start on one side of the street, drive, then return on the other side of the street. But my instructor had me start and finish on the same side so everyone laughed at me thinking I failed, but I passed. Sometimes they test your temper more then your driving so stay cool like I did.

I was told they can do that. But thankfully the lady that was with me on the drive wasn't such a douche and gave me easy tasks to accomplish like TURN LEFT.

Ignorant women should stay in the kitchen

And misogynist morons such as yourself should be taught to keep their sexist ideas to themselves. Both OP and the instructor were men, so where is your comment valid?

in the Netherlands they have a certain maximum to keep to. don't let too many people pass. such as that. after that. they will trap you like this. quite silly if you ask me. But yeah. asshat.

I can tell you from personal experience they do NOT have a maximum quota for passing people in the Netherlands...

They're not allowed to do that because they're not supposed to tell you to do anything illegal and if you refuse to do something that they tell you to do you automatically fail. So either way you would have failed

I would definitely bring that up to their supervisor that is unacceptable and if they were in the wrong you should fight it
