Strange behavior

Today, I texted the man I'm dating, told him I was having a terrible day and asked him to say something to cheer me up. His response? "Did you know that rabbits shriek when they're killed?" I'm still having a terrible day, and now I can't stop thinking about dying, shrieking bunnies. FML

Ahah, reminds me of a friend of mine. On the day of our prom, she kept begging her boyfriend to kill her rabbit. Talk about a mood killer.

Yes. No one wants to be "bothered". They're too selfish. Because who, in their right mind, wouldn't spend their spare time listening to the damned screams of frenzied, terrified animals as they're cruelly murdered? I, for one, am all for your argument. It's definitely not too "bothersome" to sadistically spend my time staring into my computer monitor, just hoping that I'll find a new video of an animal being mercilessly and painfully slaughtered. Obviously, people who don't watch those videos are selfishly living their lives. Shame on them for being alive, wasting their lives not-watching things die in gruesome, bloody ways that would make anyone but a sadist gag up everything from tonight's dinner to yesterday's breakfast. They're such sick people for not watching them. Way to go.

Shame on you for whining and expecting him to cheer you up. Did it ever occur to you that maybe he was having a bad day before you called to "make" him cheer you up? Maybe if you really liked him the sound of his voice alone could have brightened your day a little

The OP stated that they were texting, statement null

Big diff. The sentiment still applies.

I never heard one shriek when I helped my friends dad butcher some. They did tend to jump around erratically when their heads were cut off though. Pretty amusing seeing them hitting the bike, spraying blood all over it.

I woke up one time to the sound of a baby bunny crying. My cat caught it and brought it in the house. My dog had it between his paws licking it. Fortunately, I got there in time to save it. They have a very unusual shriek. It's a sound I never want to hear again.

they don't shriek when they're killed. only if you torment then like holding their back legs and letting the front ones try and run away. not that I've done that. it's harsh. but I've seen it. they do however, piss on your shoes.

If I'm going to try to cheer someone up without resorting to forced tenderness and ego massaging, I usually go for a simple racist/offensive joke. You'd be surprised what just a little touch of unexpected shock can do to a mood, especially when it brings laughter (make sure your racist joke is actually funny!) Depending on how upset they are, I might not have to resort to that but just simply get them to laugh. Considering that deep down I hate answering the "Why do you love me" questions, it's much easier, plus I get to save that mushy material for spontaneous letters and cards. She cheers up and I don't feel annoyed at all for doing it.

This is made me LOL. It's so funny. Sorry about your terrible day.
