Suspect

By Anonymous - 01/08/2009 04:30 - United States

Today, I went for a run. I ended up being tackled by two cops, handcuffed, and dragged to the station with no explanation. Turns out a house nearby had been robbed and the best description they got was, "A man running." I didn't even get an apology. FML

#51_____ im so sorry but you are trying to be smart, but in fact make yourself sound like an idiot. Habeas Corpus (literally: you (will) have the body), is a action seeking relief from an unlawful detention. You might have confused HC for Miranda Rights (see, miranda v. arizona... "you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you ...etc etc"). But regardless, IF this is real, there are multiple lawsuits that can and SHOULD be filed: including unlawful arrest, excessive force, and civil rights violations. #57____ stop whining... you either are the most unlucky person ever, or are constantly in the wrong place at the wrong time (in which case, you might want to examine your choice of friends/where you spend time)... getting arrested once for something you didnt do, is regrettable and tragic, but mistakes do happen... getting arrested multiple times for things you "didn't" do, doesnt happen

don't be ******* retarded, of course its possible. It gets more and more unlikely as you go through each arrest but its definitely possible. You have no grasp of mathematics, obviously.

Well... That's a Masshole cop 4 ya... sorry bout that man

your fundamental legal rights have been violated. i say you sue them.

Dude, I told you to stop going out running with a ski mask and a 9 mm. Didn't I tell you? I told you.

don't they have to tell you what 'you' did before they take you away? also, they are some dumb ass cops. fyl.

Yeah, right. Out of know where police arrest you without telling you your rights. You can be arrested and brought for questioning if you're a suspect.

This sounds so fake. Weren't you wearing exercise clothing? You shouldn't have looked like someone guilty of a crime

Good thing this isn't like the thing with professor Gates and good thing it isnt in Massachusetts where it took place

this was my fiance matt's fml. he can't be bothered to make his own darn account right now (-.-' men) so henceforth is him speaking: I'm a pasty white irish-american guy, so i don't think race was an issue with the cops. I don't remember how fast i was running, and I was wearing a Red Sox shirt and shorts. If they did yell 'hey stop' or something, I definitely didn't hear them. No, it's not fake. And yes, a lot of the cops in this city are idiots. The only thing they would say to me was my Miranda rights, and arguing seemed like a bad idea at the time. I know not all cops are dickholes, but these ones were. and as far as I know, they're still trying to find the person who robbed that house. And I forgot to put it in the FML, but all this went down mid-morning.

If this is true, please let us know how many new cars you purchased with the settlement.
