Take the hints

Today, my boyfriend declared he doesn't feel ready to move in with me for at least "some more years". We have already been together for five years. When he bought an apartment one year ago, he kept it a secret for three months. Maybe I should learn to take a hint. Or several hints. FML

He doesn't seem to be the commitment type or even the honesty type. Looks like it's time to move on OP.

Shouldn't OP's age be relevant too? I assume OP isn't that young, thereby justifying her complaints more, but if she started dating him in high school, I could understand the bf being very much not ready.

So comment section looks exactly how I thought it would, women thinking that a relationship isn't worth it if it doesn't come with a house and marriage. Just because he doesn't want to move in with you or get married doesn't mean he doesn't value you or the relationship. Wake up women, men don't owe you a house and ring. Proceed to thumbs down this comment to oblivion so it doesn't challenge your entitlement. :)

Don't look at is as moving on OP, look at it as moving up! :)

Learn to love yourself a little more. Any man worth your attention would actually want you around... Blow him off and find someone else.

a very similar thing happened to me. It's hard to leave when you love them. Try to keep your chin up.

You are not owed a house/apartment or marriage or anything just because you have been together for any amount of time. That type of mentality should have gone out in the 1950's with the idea of barefoot pregnant women that never leave the kitchen. It's anachronistic and stupid. And to everyone who's crying commitment issues or that he's cheating you can be committed and faithful to someone and still not have to move in with them or get married. To think otherwise is the height of entitlement. You deserve it.

Move on OP you deserve someone who wants to commit to you.

smh mine ain't get the apartment yet but makes every excuse why he's not ready to.move in yet smh
