Today, my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time. I'm extremely uncomfortable with eye contact, but he kept staring into my eyes the entire time. I had to sing the F.U.N. song from Spongebob in my head to stop myself having an anxiety attack. FML

I don't understand though.... Isn't eye contact a 2 way thing? If I didn't want to make eye contact with someone I'd look away, even just looking at the pillow next to his head... Even if he was holding her head so she couldn't turn it away you can still avert your eyes... I'm just confused

Maybe this will be therapeutic and help you to be more comfortable with eye contact. It's an essential life skill for job interviews, love, etc.
