Today, I was pulled over for speeding. After a few minutes of conversing, he told me he didn't need to give me a ticket. He then asked for a date. I politely declined. After staring at me for a very long moment, he said, "I think I'm going to have to give you that ticket after all." FML

If you deserved a ticket then you should have gotten one. However if you didnt and he was being a jerk because you didnt go out with him... Then fyl.

The cop wasn't being nice to her, he was trying to manipulate her.

Well, he is a jerk. Don't worry about it, there is probably a way out of it if you report it, it may be a longshot though. Also it is good you didnt give in, a small fine is not worth your dignity.

I'm not entirely sure how what she could contest the ticket. She was going to receive one anyway, but then the cop decided not to give her it. Then he changed his mind.

Uh, so? Okay we all get that you're pretty good looking that you can get outta a ticket. And obviously he was a jerk. But seriously, what's the point. How TF this a FML?

well if your going to flirt to get out a ticket then reject him ydi.

Wow, you people are acting like he propositioned her for sex in exchange for waiving the ticket. From her post it sounds like she deserved the ticket and he was giving her an out - by asking her out. Yes, it's sexist, but hell, if I had the option I'd give up a few hours of my life for a free meal, no fine, and no insurance hit.

Sigh. Even if she did deserve the ticket, the cop was soliciting a bribe, specifically the opportunity to take her out and maybe get laid. He should get thrown off the force.

Agreed. He was breaking the law he works to protect. You might have little enough self-worth to sell yourself out of a ticket, but you cant't fault her for having a little self esteem.

That's unfair! You should report him. =P

So, you deserved a ticket and you got one. You also didn't have to go on a date with some sexist cop. Everything worked out fine. Shut up.

YDI for speeding and for declining the date that would have gotten you off the hook!
