Today, at work, one of my 6 year-old students, who has had intense speech therapy since kindergarten, told me, "I can tell you're hot, because you rolled your sleeves up." I was very pleased with his articulate sentence, until he said, "Your arms are hairy." FML

You ought to go commando to school one day, corner the little creep, hike up your skirt and say, "Now, THIS is hairy. . . " He won't need any more speech therapy because he'll never speak again.

The only FML here is that you were pleased a 6-year-old said you were hot and upset that a 6-year-old said your arms are hairy. Not that he said those things but that you actually care what a 6-year-old thinks about you.

I don't think the 6 year old meant hot in terms of appearance, I think they were making the observation that OP was probably too hot and they'd rolled their sleeves up to cool down. The reason OP was happy about that, was because the kid had been going through speech therapy, and that had been quite a big sentence. The reason OP would care that the kid pointed out that their arms were hairy, is probably because kids tend to say things without inhibition, and that would mean it's definitely true. So they weren't just caring what that particular child thought of them, they were probably worried about what everyone else in the world must have been thinking, since I guess they'd never though of their arms as hairy until then... I just got stupider and stupider the more I said, didn't I? :P

1.) He is six, six year olds have a rep for being blunt, stupid, or both, because they are six. 2.) Hairy arms are an easy fix, simply shave along with your legs.
