Today, a kid was ranting that "people these days are so rude" and that "things were much better in the '50s." Annoyed, I asked the delusional twat what was so great about the racial segregation, rampant sexism, homophobia, and all the rest back then. He responded by punching me. FML

If a kid punches you, he deserves a smack. I don't care how old he is, not defending yourself simply reinforces in the kid's mind that he can get away with doing such things because people like you will instantly take the kids side despite his actions. I'm not saying beat the shit out of the poor kid, but a good slap across the face should do nicely.

Eeee, while I would agree if this was OP's kid, the line is a liiiitttttttle bit more blurry since it's A kid, not HIS kid. I'm all for disciplining kids, but I also don't want OP slapped with a child abuse case because he whipped a kid that wasn't his.
