He obviously isn't a good dad. Bc they could get a hypo allergenic cat. So you can hang out with him.
You are just one of the many ignorant people here. The fiancee has a bond with her cat. You can't just simply get a new cat and everything be the same. So shut the hell up until you can actually think before commenting.
Am I the only one that is happy to see someone not get rid of their animal for a stupid allergy!
We probably need more info - though if OP needs the hospital because of it - it sounds like more than a stupid allergy.. though if it is just to visit it might depend..
Well, allergic-guy is only complaining about visiting now. As a severly allergic person, he is going to have problems with touching his dad. Cat fur get's everywhere. I'm not saying that is a reason to take away the cat, or that it is good, but he's alright to complain about getting sick whenever he hugs his dad.
I wonder how old OP is because he could be a teen/kid for all we know and his dad could have custody on the weekends or visitation. If he is there enough to make it an issue then I would hope that the dad would take his childs health into consideration. On the other hand if he is an adult then he can meet his dad elsewhere.
You cant pick your parents. Cat fur and dander will be all over his clothes. if your that allergic, its going to be ever worse than you thought
If you actually live there coz you're young and studying, okay, I understand. If you don't live there, I don't see your problem. Cat would be there more time than you. Meet your father outside - adjust. It may be just an animal to you, but it probably means a lot more to his fiancee.

Hes an asshole. Sorry Op. You deserve someone better
No he's not. I can't see why OP's dad should make his fiancée permanently get rid of her cat when OP can just take anti-allergy medication before he goes to their house (yes, it really works, and it's cheap). Even if OP lives there, all he has to do is take some Benadryl every day, that's what cat-owners that are allergic to cats do.
