Today, after three and a half years of working dead-end jobs with a bachelor's degree, I got a call from a potential employer in my degree field, who wanted to set up an interview. The problem: the interview is across the country, and I'm too broke to pay the travel expenses. FML

Man--that sucks. That's how I am in taking auditions for symphonies... How do we pay to get there? :-/

I'm sure you could've asked for a phone interview

Phone-interview or see if they will cover travel expenses and just put it on a credit card, just make sure to pay it off once they reimburse you.

The company I work for pays for travel expenses when a candidate is out of state. If they aren't paying for the expenses, you probably should not apply to this company. Who knows, if you got the job you might find the following statement said a lot: "Do you mind if we pay you next week? We are a little short on funds."

Take a loan and go for it, if it pays off and you get the job your going to be set for life :)

Stop complaining and ask for donations from your loved ones on Facebook and if u have No one then sell your stuff on craigslist, take out a loan, or hitch a ride with a truck driver son! It's how you make it in America!
