Today, due to plumbing issues, I had to choose between a goosebump-inducing cold or skin-blistering hot shower. This is the 7th day in a row. My husband says it shouldn't be more than another week before he "gets it figured out". FML

So what did you choose? I had to have a freezing cold shower in Canadian february and it was terrible but I can't imagine skin-blisteringly hot would be any better..

Fill your tub half and half and add a few bubbles! (:

She might not have a tub. When I visit my family in Mexico it's only cold showers. They have no tub so we have to heat the water on the fire and use a bucket.

A bath is the way to go here. Even if it is too hot be patient, it will cool, relax a few, scrub your ass and all will be right with the world. Hell, send pictures if you want.

Something is wrong with your mixing valve. Get it replaced.

Yes - a bath is the way to go! Run some hot water, run some cold water, then you'll find yourself being comfortably warm! (:

Do you sweat every day that you HAVE to shower daily? Complete with soap and shampoo? Really? Stop wasting water and electricity.

In some cultures you're taught to take at least a shower a day. So yes, some people HAVE to shower daily.

That might be ok for cooler places, but it's hot where I live so if I didn't shower everyday I'd be pretty sweaty and greasy. Sometimes I even have *gasp* two showers a day because it's nice to freshen up after a stinking hot day. Also, some people have pretty hard-working labor/outside jobs that result in lots of sweat and grime, so of course they're going to shower every day. And some people just like that freshly-showered feeling. Seriously, is showering every day really so strange? o.O

Or, maybe, they have a well and don't have to pay for water...

Even in colder places you should still shower daily, I work around people all day if I didn't shower someone may be offended by my odorous pits and I would lose business.

I think this comment was tongue in cheek...

I guess you could use the gym's shower.

I don't see any problem here. I love blistering hot showers

If you don't have a bath, you could also shower by emptying a bucket over your head. Or have your husband do that, to make himself useful. It's very refreshing, but of course you should soap up beforehand.

Why don't you put the hot water on and leave it running for like 10 minutes until the hot water starts to run out. Then it will be warm...

you need a new water heater if yours runs out of hot water in 5 minutes haha

You can't turn the cold and hot on at the same time? It might be able to make it warm.

I just woke up when I typed this so I assumed they only use the hot water on a little bit for a warm shower. I know people who do if
