Today, I went on a date with a guy that I really like. At the last minute he informed me a friend would be tagging along. To keep his friend from being a third-wheel, I kept up a conversation, and managed to piss my date off. He thought I would be a better match for his friend. FML

Maybe you misunderstood him when he said date, but meant instead to have a casual meeting amongst friends. If he truly is a nice guy then I'm sure he means no harm.

Quite a similar situation actually happened to my Mother in Law. She was seeing this guy and about the third date he told her he had a wife and kids. He apparently thought she, and his wife, would be OK with this.
