Today, I asked my dad for advice. I recently got drunk and had a one-night stand. I feel terrible, because I'm engaged to a wonderful lady. My dad just said, "You did the right thing, son, keep it up. She's gonna steal half ya shit in the divorce anyway". FML

Yeah, you should feel terrible. F your fiancé's life. She deserves better. Also, being drunk isn't an excuse.

Sounds like you shouldn't get married. You'd be doing yourself, and her, a favor anyways..it's awful.

If I were her, I'd leave. Personally, I think beating or cheating can't be forgiven. :/

Next time don't drink as much or not at all

Anyone that goes and gets drunk and can't retain the self control to keep it in his pants is NOT ready for marriage. Best advice you'll get.

How could you do something like that? You should be ashamed YDI

Definitely must not be ready for marriage OP. Being drunk/Alcohol is never an excuse for things like this. As an adult, we should be able to retain self control! In my opinion, (coming from a female), you should most definitely be honest with her and explain what happened, but do not use the "I was drunk excuse". Ladies don't handle that well.

Wow, just tell her the truth and leave her. That wonderful lady deserves better.

he probably means when you get divorced because she found out you cheated on her.

So that he can lighten his conscience and leave the hurt, pain and difficult desicions to her? If it was a truly regretted one time thing move on and never tell a soul. Oh, and never get drunk again. If it's not, break up and give her the chance to find a man who won't betray her.
