Your dad needs to see a therapist. I mean, it's not the GAME you should blame, it's the people ho play it. They are the ones to decide wheter or not to play. I understand how important is to be online when raiding, or doing things with other players, but for example I've never gone to a raid, or even a group instance when I knew I had to get to the bus station in 30 minutes to meet my girlfriend. Counter Strike was / is as addicting as WoW, or any other game. (Not necessarily computer games) I'm sorry to hear such stories. World of Warcraft is an amazing game, but none should play too much. I play it to. A few hours a day - when I don't have ANYTHING ELSE to do, and would otherwise play other games, read e-.mails etc.... Or reading FML :P BTW, I support the "lolcat" idea! He would probably get an idea out of that. But NEVER abandon your real life, no matter how bad it is for a virtual word, no matter how good that is. Try to balance your play time and life time in a normal humanly way. Or as WoW people say, "GET A LIFE" ...if you don't have one.
roflmao, your dad's ****** up get him some pussy.
how is it possible to be a parent and play World Of Warcraft!?!?! HOW!?!
Sounds like someone was trying to teach you a lesson. *ahem* When was the last time you said you couldn't do something because you were busy with a game?
If you lived that far away, wouldn't someone pick you up on a daily basis already, and if not, shouldn't you have a way of getting home? I doubt you call your dad everyday and hope he not playing WoW.
Playing wow and not wanting to be interrupted when you're down for the night is not addiction. It is a sign of a parent not wanting to cater to their daughter's poor planning.. and that would be the case no matter what they were doing. Most people watch TV and no one stops to wonder if maybe -that- is an addiction.. and by the same arguments, it is. What if there was more to this? Maybe he hadn't planned on having to pick her up, and had a drink or two -while- playing? This is a very one sided story that leaves a lot of crucial information out, so this really probably has nothing to do with WoW other than him playing it at some point. I know a lot of parents who would do this, without WoW being part of the equation. Being a good parent doesn't always mean catering to their every desire.. especially considering that we dont know how old the OP is, so it could be college they're talking about. I would've just told the daughter to take a taxi home, and that I would pay for it. Then again, I used to go for 3 hour walks all the time, and it did me a lot of good.
Even if there was more to this story like poor planning on the OP's part, her dad could have still gotten off his ass and picked her up and then gave her shit about it in the car. You don't just leave your kids somewhere 3 hours away and play a ******* game to make a point. Your children are your utmost priority, regardless of what the hell else you're doing. And if your daughter finds herself stranded somewhere even if it's her fault, it's your job to go get her and then discuss her idiocy later. OP, your dad sounds like an immature turd. Good luck with that.
Dude, 3 hours WALK, it's not 3 hours away by any other means a transportation. Get a bike.
Children are not your priority you ******* mongel, they are there ot annoy the **** outta you till you kick them out at 18 years of age and sell all their shite. It's worked for generations.
Wow, you all go after the dad like he is the devil, really he is just teaching the OP to fend for themselves. noone will drop everything to pick you up in the real world. Just a little forward planning would have avoided it all.
If it takes you 3 hours to walk home you're in the wrong school...
