Today, I asked my mother if we could test me for OCD, since so many people have suggested to me that I might have it. She smiles at me and says, "No, honey, you're just really really weird." FML

I dunno, I don't think this really counts as an FYL or a YDI. It's just kinda like a.. I'm sorry? I mean, my mom calls me weird all the time. So what?

Uhh, my mom calls me weird too...? It's not really a bad thing. OP is too sensitive.

so..? omg, my mom made a joke and called me weird. fml. people call me weird all he time, so what?

this is really only an fml if she was mean about it. otherwise, it would have been a compliment..

omg that sucks, lol. by the way there really is no "test" for OCD. the best thing to do is go to a psychologist or therapist who specializes in OCD and have them evaluate you. if you are up for the drive (which i am pretty sure you wont be) UCLA has a GREAT OCD program. that is were i went when i was diagnosed with severe OCD. good luck.

being weird isn't always a bad thing ha. non-weird people are boring lol

Dude I take pride in being called wierd. (go ahead... Call me wierd for saying that) but I look at it as, another way I'm unique XD About testing for OCD, u could try asking ur mom again, and aak her to be serious with u about it, or just get tested urself.

A bit of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive DISORDER) is called Obsessive Compulsive Behavior and if it doesn't interfere with your life, it is not something that requires professional help. My daughter has a fairly mild case of OCD and with the help of a psychologist alone (no meds!), she is able to control it. You should go to a psychologist first and let them diagnose your condition. Don't let your mom's stupid comment deter you. And do it soon, these things are often more easily treated if treated early. Good luck.

I think his mom WAS being supportive. Even if he does have a disorder or something, she's just trying to tell him not to worry because he's just different. Why is the word "weird" such a bad thing for a mother to say if she's smiling and being loving about it? Besides- we don't know who's been calling him ocd, if it's just your friends saying that you do strange things then there's not merit. Also, if a disorder isn't hurting you at all, then what does it matter?

Don't worry. You probably don't have OCD, considering that the majority of people have a gross misconception of the disorder.
