I agree with #3. YDI for being a greedy **** who can't be bothered to help a poor old lady just for the sake of being nice.

Either have the brains to agree on payment beforehand or have the heart to do the job for free. Doing neither and then whining about the situation serves no purpose.

If she said he would get paid, then she should hold up her end of the deal. She may be old, but that does not excuse someone for not paying after agreeing earlier to do so. Still not a majorly huge FML, since the old lady (albeit a senile selfish one) did get helped out and probably has an overall situation far worse than the OP's. Four hours of work for no compensation does suck balls, but would you rather be the one going to the nursing home?

I can't say I agree that this is an FML because you just did something nice for someone...aw shucks, volunteering sucks, doesn't it?

Also, all the spelling fanatics out there correcting the OP for "payed" and not "paid" are ignorant motherfuckers. You deserve it for expecting something in return. You helped an old woman move so she could go to a nursing home, and you expected payment? Shame on you.
