#15 my school still had us do that. And other schools that don't require IDs for students still require them for staff...?
Well I've never known Security Guards to be very bright I agree you should have had a School ID or License to show him
who gives a shit
...Why are you even on here?
42 lol. shoulda just said no to the guard. more like an anti-fyl because as everyone else says you look young. but i dont think ydi. so fyl.
why's that bad? they thought you looked young :)
um... does it occur to anyone that looking like a high school kid might NOT be the OP's standard of beauty? if she got mistaken for a student at a university, i could see that maybe being flattering, but there's a big difference between being 30 and mistaken for a 22-year-old and being 22 (or 30) and mistaken for 15-year-old. physical appearances aside, there's a certain level of maturity generally acquired after high school, and it would definitely be insulting to be assumed not to have that, even if it's something that can't be determined on looks alone. i presume that a person working at a high school is likely to dress in a more professional manner than the students (although, i suppose there could be a strict dress code), which would make her look older and serve as another point of differentiation. in any case, if she looks young enough to be mistaken for a high school student, i can't imagine she's any older than 30 or so, in which case "looking young" is not likely to be high on her list of concerns. also, just because the security guard doesn't have any actual authority over her doesn't mean it would be so easy to just walk away. he THOUGHT he had authority over her, so if she had just tried to shrug him off, i'm sure he wouldn't have let it go. i suppose he might have just taken her to the principal's office, in which case the whole thing would have been over with a little quicker, but he might have also caused a scene, and i'm sure she was embarrassed enough as it was.
thx for the novel of a comment.

no employee id?
Something similar happened to a teacher friend of mine. She walked into the staff room and was told to get out as students weren't allowed in there.
