sorry you have the bad luck of being born on Harry Potter Day but that's just the way the dice roll, my friend..I'd be picking Harry Potter too! Besides if you were friends with these people for real, you'd know they love Harry and would be going to the movie.
Okay, say friend A goes to the OP's birthday party, but friends B and C (who weren't invited to the party) go see Harry Potter instead. Friend A will be killing themselves while listening to friend B and C talk about Harry Potter! The reason all of us raging fans need to see the movie on opening night is because WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT FROM SOMEONE ELSE! (Especially after waiting SO long for this movie!) Reading a review the next morning, or going over a scene-by-scene synopsis at work the next day is not the same as seeing the movie the opening night. (And unless you shut yourself in your bedroom, you're going to be hearing about it from someone, whether you like it or not). Also, opening night crowds are AMAZING. I mean, you obviously have to go see the movie a second time, so you can actually hear some of the dialogue. But there's nothing greater than being in a packed theater with 300+ people who are all (almost) as excited as you are. I've seen every HP movie at the first screening (as well as Twilight and some other anxiously awaited films), and NOTHING compares to the vibe the crowd gives off!! (And of course, with HP, I'd go see the movie at least three times in theaters, so it's not like it's wasting my money the first night when I can't hear much). HP ftw, your birthday ftl. Sorry doll.
Ok, first, no one said Harry Potter was better than a freind, we just said it was more important than her birthday party, which it is. And second, about your claim that Harry Potter is one of the worst stories of the modern era... the fact that J.K. Rowling is the richest author in HISTORY, and her stories are outsold only by the BIBLE, would beg to differ.
YDI. I would so the same for Harry Potter
Harry Potter takes precedence over your birthday party. Sorry dude.
which theater? i dont want to go to one that's crowded - i also live in Massachusetts

I would honestly have to agree. Opening night of Harry Potter matches no other.
pshh who wouldn't go watch Harry Potter instead *light bulb goes on in head* maybe you can have your birthday party at the movie theater!
