Today, I figured I'd throw my ex-boyfriend a compliment and told him how "gifted" he was below the belt. He thinks he's paying me a compliment when he tells me how much he loves that little roll of skin that pops up over the top of my pants when I sit down. I'm trying to lose weight, asshole. FML

Today, I was at the gym, when a pretty overweight guy started staring and eventually taunting me. Let me tell you, lines such as "Lay off the cake, fatty!" and "I can see your gut hanging out your ass, for fuck's sake!" don't exactly boost one's self-confidence. FML

Today, I went to the gym and worked out with a trainer. While doing arm exercises he commented on how impressed he was with the size of my triceps. That really boosted my self-confidence, until he leaned in to feel them and said, "Oh, it's just fat." FML

if he can like something that is clearly unattractive, so unattractive that you recognise the fact, and try then to remove the fact. is he really an asshole? someone that likes you for the small things, that noone else likes you for, hes no asshole, and this is no reason to write on **** my life.

My boyfriend likes that part of my stomach. He always talks about how cute it is. I don't personally understand, but it makes me feel loved and beautiful so who gives a s**t? I don't think your ex was necessarily trying to hurt your feelings.

To people who say it's a compliment: I don't think so. Weight is a touchy subject for many women. If you know a girl is trying to lose weight, you don't go pointing out a fat roll. That's plain insensitive. Even if he meant it as a compliment (doubtful), he was still inconsiderate of OP's feelings.
