Today, I finally bought a car, after saving up for a year. My dealer had told me it was a good buy, so I snapped it up then and there. On the way home, the rear axle practically fell out of the car due to frame rot. My dealer wants to buy the car back at half the price. FML

Today, I bought a car that literally caught fire seconds after I started the engine. The dealership then fobbed me off, saying I'd driven it off their forecourt (by about 3 yards), so it was entirely my problem, but they still expect my monthly payments to be on time. FML

Today, I found out that the man who sold me my car 6 months ago lied about it being "recently serviced" and "in excellent condition". It actually hasn't been serviced in years, and fixing all its problems is going to cost me $900 more than what I paid for the car. FML

Today, I took my car to dealer because of the loud knocking sound I heard while driving it. Twenty-four hours later, they told me it was fixed. Fifteen minutes after I drove away, the tire flew off my car while I was on the highway. My car is now totaled. FML

Today, I was offered a "rust and accident free“ used car at the dealership. By chance, I managed to track down the previous owner, who was quite surprised I was asking about it, saying, "That one was totaled, I thought it had been scrapped!” FML

"My dealer?" Is this the guy that sells you drugs? When you go to a car lot, "the" dealer works for the dealership, not for you. Moving pieces of shit off the lot is a lucrative bonus -- a move that can only be pulled on gullible morons.

The way I see it, if I'm paying you for goods or service, I'm your boss. You are my dealer, my dentist, my professor, my waitress (whatever your profession). I'm aware we aren't mutually exclusive, but then neither are my relationships with my friends.

except when you change your cars very often (as we do), usually get them from the same place and have known the guy for a million years - then he is 'my dealer'. Also, he usually tells us if something is not such a good buy due to blahblahblah.

Yeah, car dealers are less trustworthy than drug dealers. This is coming from someone who had a brief foray into selling cars on Craigslist and had an ex-girlfriend who I was too blind to see was into selling all sorts of weird stuff.
