Today, I flew to Mexico with my (now ex) boyfriend of two years. It was my first time flying, and apparently I have a fear. I had a panic attack on the plane. When we landed, I got dumped for "causing a scene." I am now stranded in Mexico alone for two weeks with no hotel room booked. FML

Luckily he found out you were a drama queen before he married you. Why should he continue to date you after he found out you are not worth marrying? Obviously he thinks he can get better easily enough. Why would you freak out and make a scene in the first place, let alone expect him to put up with behaviour that is unacceptable coming from a child -- simply because it is his (presumably) adult date freaking out?

Panic attacks do not equal to "behaviour that is unacceptable coming from a child" o.O If she's never flown before then how in the world was she supposed to know that it scares the crap out of her?

I would not accept that behaviour from a child, regardless of if they have flown before or not. You are flying. Big deal. Nothing to act immature and embarrass the poor guy over. Sit down, shut up, and act like an adult.

Again, it's a PANIC ATTACK. People generally can not help their panic attacks. She has a phobia of flying. She was not acting immature. The only way to fix a phobia is to continually face the fear. Unfortunately for OP, she has never realized she had the fear, so /involuntarily/ freaked out on her first time. Of course... not always will it work. OP may be cursed forever with her irrational fear.

you do realize panic attacks cannot be helped. the only way it can be your fault is if you knowingly do something that causes you to have a panic attack. OP has never flown before, therefore they wouldn't know of the fear. before you go blaming OP for having a panic attack at least learn about what panic attacks are.

not every douche bag acts like a douche bag all the time. my mom's ex husband was the nicest when they were dating then after marriage his douchey side came out. people can and do (not everyone but a lot) hide their true selves from people, even their SO
