Bahahaha shave! these days 13 year olds shave their legs!

One of my friends started shaving in 1st grade, I think you're a teensy bit behind the times...

Doesn't mean it's right to at that age though...

44- what would be the correct age then because we wear PE shorts and some girls r embarrassed of hairy legs haha

Ew you don't shave? yuck haha :D

It's typically acceptable to begin shaving when you start puberty. First grade is ridiculously early.

I know it's early, I actually think it's kind of gross, but I'm just saying that to use 13 as an example of an early age to start shaving is ridiculous

how bout, no one should care who shaves or not? It's literally nothing of a problem!

ha, the word "wookiee" makes me smile

why the hell would you stop shaving? you're lucky he hasn't already dumped your hairy ass YDI

everytime you see his penis u should smirk and mutter "yoda"

Just shave if you don't like it, that IS kind of gross...

How is hair gross? If the OP is clean, the quantity of hair is irrelevant.

at least he didn't dump you. gosh

Contrary to popular believe, ALL women are feminine, no matter if they shave or not. If you don't wanna shave and your boyfriend don't like it, get a new one. He should love you no matter how you look, body hair is not unnatural nor gross. And everyone else, WHY in hell does she need to alter her appearance to be accepted as a woman? Does none of you get that this is why women feel self conscious about their body, since everyone think that a woman who doesn't shave, pluck her eyebrows, wax, wear makeup is not "feminine"? When did it become gross to look just the way you were created?

#49: So do you also assume that men who don't shave their legs are unhygienic? I've never shaved my legs and I don't see why I should, except perhaps to preserve the illusion that women are separate species from men, more closely related to marine mammals than to apes. It's only fashion, common in certain countries in certain decades, and I'm sure it'll pass.

maybe its very natural, but girls don't like when men fart or burp. girls don't like when a man walking down the street has boner. most heterosexuals don't like hairy legs either. you can't have a boner and that's why you can't have hair

#113: If it's just that you don't find it attractive, then just say that. That's fine; we'll just know not to go out with you. But you said it had something to do with hygiene, which is a rather more important and universal thing, since she could get sick by being unhygienic.

oh go live in a log cabin on a mountain somewhere. hairy legs on a girl is disgusting. and stop preaching on fml. I'm tired of people like you preaching. hairy legs is ******* gross. just like you would want to give your bf a ******** if he had a super bush. I'm tired of this it's natural shit. if you want to be so natural or say in some countries that's the way it is then I think you should move to where it's cool or live in a cave. shave ur legs or just enjoy spending countless hours with your vibrator

Jesus, I was waiting for this comment, was about to post a similar one myself. Had to wade through so much shit to get here though. :(

Boners, she's not taking it too far. You said it's unhygienic and it's not. If you don't want to be with a girl who doesn't shave, sobeit, but don't tell her it's unhygienic. I agree with whoever said that men's legs are unhygienic if we were to use your logic.

This isn't a matter of sexism or what is "natural"; it's a matter of culture. OP is breaking a cultural norm - which is fine, but her blunder is not expecting ridicule that accompanies such a transcendence from culture. Her surprise, shock, and/or outrage is made evident by her posting the story on this site in the first place. And before you go off on how ridicule is wrong, whether or not it's culturally motivated, keep in mind that not only is this kind of ridicule not limited to gender roles but it is just as natural as body hair that you so aggressively defend.

There are several things which technically break cultural norms yet aren't ridiculed. Offering another point of view isn't aggressively defending, sorry. To me, it's her choice. I do shave because I like the feel of it, but if someone chooses not to, who are you (or anyone else) to make rude comments? If you don't like it, move along and find someone else. She will too. Boners - It's not unhealthy. Learn what unhealthy means. If it's not aesthetically pleasing to you, that's fine, but disgusting, unhygienic and unhealthy it is not.

I'm actually kind of with boners on this one. There's a reason we have some social norms. you wouldn't want your boyfriend or girlfriend quitting deodorant would you? Or to stop brushing their teeth? This is pretty much the same thing.

Boners - Using your definition of unhealthy: Her hairy legs are neither harmful to her health nor showing lack of health. You just don't like the look of them. There's the difference. I'm a troll? Really? Just because you dislike when people point out certain things doesn't mean they're a troll. Also, brushing one's teeth is maintenance of hygiene. Shaving is not.

#98 me and my boyfriend burp infront of eachother all the time :3 That's completely acceptable to us :) Maybe one day not shaving legs will also be acceptable? I wouldn't ever stop though, I'd feel very unattractive. If OP's boyfriend is used to her shaving and she stops then of course he is going to react to it! Generally men find shaven legs attractive, so it's not a big shock that he is teasing you about it.

You have all officially changed my mind for the better. Cultural norms are overrated. Hygine and shaving are similar but still different. As long as she's clean, her bf shouldn't give an F if she doesn't shave every day.

If your gonna try to add an insightful, smart comment, make sure you word it right next time. It just makes you look kinda dumb. No offense. Also, this is not the seventies, not shaving Is just gross!

Why is everyone tripping on boners! you keep say different cultures && beliefs, this chicks from Washington! thy shave in Washington! I'm with boners, it's gross not to shave and really unattractive! let's just pray she wear pants like All the time!!! :))

I'm totally with 5t3ff1k4h on this one. I've asked girlfriends to forgo the shaving and makeup, and most were cheerful about doing so. Others wouldn't, but either way, it's no huge deal.
