Today, I got a ransom note saying, "We have kidnapped your husband and won't release him unless you postpone the wedding." The wedding is tomorrow and it was in his handwriting. FML

Reminds me of the idiot who staged his own kidnapping to go out drinking with friends.

Oh those canny kidnappers. Forcing the hostage to write his own note!

Kidnapping the bride or groom before the wedding is tradition in a lot of cultures. You might want to check up on what is going on before you assume the worst. I certainly hope that's the case anyway.

if it isn't just the groom-to-be kidnapping tradition look on the bright side: you can still tell him the wedding is delayed - for like ever... if it is enjoy your big day and take a few bricks for him to carry over the doorstep along with you for payback and make him work the wedding night ;)

Actually call the police and make it go into a full blown case. Not only will he have to admit in front of tons of people but he will also learn his lesson.

Sounds exactly like something my boyfriend would do. I kid you not :P

At least it said postpone and not cancel. Don't worry there is still hope for your marriage eventually!

Tell him you would like to talk about it and figure out what the problem is. If he does postpone or cancel the wedding, tell him the complete cost will fall on him and he will have to be the one to tell the guests, etc that the wedding is cancelled. If someone pulled this on me, I would likely end the relationship. Unless he was being silly and it was a joke. this sort of thing should have been talked out months before your big day.
