you can actually dispute that. my best friend is a cop. there is a 5mph margin of error on speed guns. technically an officer cannot pull u over unless u are doing more than that unless he has another reason to. same thing happened to my mom and she fought it and the cop got in trouble and had write a letter of appology to mom and he got sent home for 3days with no pay for wasting the judge's time :P
I call bulshit. I know In PA (i never gotten a ticket in any other state), speed limit fines are given for the amount of speed you go over. You do 10 mph over the limit then you get fined $40, 20 mph over the limit is a higher amount, 30 mph over the limit is even higher, etc. I dont believe there is a fine for 1-9 mph over the limit
ya but that cop was being a d bag
you know what really sucks? you can't legally be ticketed for going between 0-5 miles per hour. if you are in a school zone or construction zone you can he ticketed for going 5 over but not 0-4 over. so unless this cop is a complete idiot trying to lose his badge, this is complete b.s. if this is real fight it, won't hold up in court for a second especially if he's your "ex's" dad. tbh that's all you'd have to say in court and the judge would probaly laugh in the officers face and let you go.
You deserved it. You're technically speeding. respect the law, idiot.
Actually the cop most likely gave him the ticket just for the fact that he's his daughters ex. So, what the COP wa did was wrong and can get fired for what he did.
You're allowed to go 5 over or below the speed limit. If you fight this in court it won't stand.
Speedometers are usually calibrated for every 5 mph and therefore only readable to the nearest 2.5 mph. Meaning, in most cars you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 30 and 31 mph because it's beyond the readability of the speedometer. Not to mention there's error in the speedometer and radar gun as well. 1mph will not stand up in court. Fight it.
or my ****
Stepdad worked at police station so some of this I know to be true. Where I live you can no longer get your speedometer calibrated to get out of a ticket. Most cops won't pull you over unless you are 7+ miles over the speed limit. Whoever above mentioned the calibration of the radar gun however, might be right. I've seen them both ways. Some are amazingly accurate, others less so. You should not accept the ticket, you need to take it to court. You will pay less in lawyer (prob 250 there, plus 125 for court fees) than you would pay in higher insurance rate for the next several years because of the ticket. Considering your speed, mentioning your connection to the officer is necessary. That is abuse of power, and he could get in big trouble for that,
what???? I'm confused

That ticket won't stand up in court, especially with the arresting officer's relationship to your ex. Fight it!
you should do her and break her heart again
