Today, my husband and I were pulled over by a cop. He was still angry from our earlier argument over his constant freeloading, and when the cop told him we'd been doing 75 in a 55, he retorted, "Yeah? I did 75 in your mom last night, fuzzball." One more ticket I have to pay for. FML

Today, I was pulled over and was given a $300 ticket for going 90mph on a 70mph highway. The cop swore he saw my silver car darting in and out of traffic. A couple of minutes earlier that exact car had passed me while I was following the speed limit. FML

Impossible. Cops always allow a small margin of error because of forces beyond your or their control (ie speedometer mistakes, wind, etc)

This is a lie, not because of the margin of error, but because THE SMALLEST TICKET THEY CAN GIVE YOU FOR SPEEDING IS FOR 10 MILES OVER. The only time they can give you one for anything smaller than that is when it was in a zero tolerance zone, in which case, ydi, because when in a zero tolerance zone you're encouraged to stay UNDER the speed limit, not at it. If you're going about 6 or 7 over they can start writing them for 10 without it being that far off.

you should go to traffic court and fight the ticket. I know if u go under 5 miles over the speed limit the cops can't give you a ticket. plus if I know my laws right cause you go a ticket for that you could file police harrasment charges against him.
