Today, I got l disconnect notices for both my water and my electric. After looking over my budget, I realized that I can only pay for one until next month. FML

Keep the water. If you don't have electric, you won't be able to write anymore inane FML's like this one and the world will be a better place.

Don't know about France but in England they can't cut your water because it's essential for life so I'd pay the electricity but obviously it may be different there.

Go with water, at least you'll be clean, and able to take craps... I heard you can live only drinking water for a couple of weeks, so no need for food for a few days, either.

I disagree, I would go with electric and shower at a friend's. When I was growing up my family had very little money, so I know what it's like to go without either. Trust me, it was way worse being without electric than without water.

Other reasons to go with electric: Your water pump might be electric, so even with water, you won't be able to pump it through the lines. Also, it's little things you miss without electric. Like not having a microwave, not having an alarm clock, etc. With water, it's mostly showers. You can bring in water for dishes and also you can flush a toilet manually. Is it cold where you are? In some areas there are laws prohibiting them from disconnecting your heat until warmer weather. Might want to look into that.

I have gas heat, but it has an electronic switch, so if I lose my power, I lose my heat!! I live in Illinois! I couldn't be without heat, right now!

Now normally I'd say go with the water.... BUT THEN AGAIN... I'm not feelin normal today GO WITH ELECTRICITY. What about the water??? THAT'S WHAT U GOT NIEGHBORS FOR FOOL. USE THIER HOSES AFTER THEY LEAVE TO WASH W/E IT IS U NEED WASHED YEEAAAA XD this isn't really a fml btw when I was little we never had enough water or electricity. XD sad I know right. Um...lemme think. Libraries, public internet terminals, a kind friend who gave them their network password (wi-fi), could be at a friends house, university, etc. Some apt. complexes offer free wi-fi for their tenants: that's how it was at my last apt. Please, think before you make assumptions and throw barbs.
