OP, I've been in the same situation...except it was the love of my life and her girlfriend. ._. The lesson? Don't. Fall. For lesbians. But here? Yeah, that's shitty. At least you have the comfort of "Well, she's straight so I know, sexually, I would've had a chance." Even if she was never interested in you to begin with, you were the right sex.

Whether you lead him to believe there is something possibly there or he really just has some crazy love for you, it would be better to leave him and cut ties with him, he's obviously not in strong control of his actions or emotions so why not step up to the plate and end it yourself? (Why? Because you like the attention, Thats Why!) It would end his emotional suffering and help him to move on, but instead your choosing to keep him around which is tormenting him. How the hell did he get invited to go see your new boyfriend?
