Today, I had to go through the embarrassment and pain of telling my parents I was pregnant. I took the test and it came out positive and I was freaking out. I got grounded for the rest of the year and they're really disappointed in me. Five minutes ago, I got my period. FML

Lol they said you were grounded after you told them you were pregnant? That's ******* retarded. "Sorry, my daughter can't make it to lamaze class this afternoon, she's grounded for having sex!!!!!1!11!" Sorry about your situation and I hope it works out for ya no matter what. Keep your head up. Personally, I'd be calling Planned Parenthood first thing in the morning.

Let's see... She has sex underage, does so unprotected, and when she knows of all the risks and the fact that she can't support her baby she puts the burden on her parents... I say she got off easy.

actually false positives are EXTREMELY uncommon. false negatives are very common.

Actually, you can get a false positive quite easily. My sister did three preg tests, all came out positive. She wasn't, and the Gyno said that the hormone levels just before a period sometimes mimick the hormone levels in pregnancy.

That's bullshit... she needs a new gynecologist. Pregnancy tests detect HCG... which is made by the embyro itself. It doesn't detect estrogen or progesterone or any other female hormones that are always present in a woman's system. HCG can ONLY be present during pregnancy... and it's possible to still have some of it very soon after a miscarriage or abortion, which is how many women get false positives.

That's terrible...but next time (well..hopefully they're is not another pregnancy scare for the OP) it's best to go to the doctor to get a far more accurate answer than an over the counter pregnancy test.

My dad's a doctor and when people come in and think they're pregnant that early he just makes them take 3 different pregnancy tests...

I agree with #63, she could have used the safety precautions but they don't always work. To the OP, you still might be pregnant, I'd go to the doctor just to have it checked out by a professional.

I hit YDI because this isn't an FML. Get a pregnancy test done to double check and then explain that you were mistaken and wow you're off the hook. Omg, your life is *so* ******.
