Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. After she left, they told me they disapprove of her because of her supposedly lower social class. Now I have to either dump her or lose the money they set aside to pay for my university tuition. FML

Today, I met my girlfriend's parents. Her father looked me up and down, said, “No” then went back to his TV. My girlfriend immediately broke up with me and threw me out. I even had to get a really expensive taxi home, because we’d driven in her car and I had no idea what part of the city I was in. FML

Today, my girlfriend was given an ultimatum by her dad: come back to China and marry the man he picked for her, or stay here at uni with her 'white devil boyfriend' (me) and be shunned by her whole family forever. She chose here for her future career, but I think she resents me for it. FML

Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. Recently, her mother married a rich guy and they moved in together. Her stepfather pays for everything and she can now go to bars every weekend or travel. Now that she’s “had a taste of the good life” she thinks she can meet someone better. I’m working class. FML

Today, my parents lectured me about how my girlfriend will ruin my life, because she's a single mom, a recovering alcoholic, and has chronic health issues. Apparently, I should be with their friend's rude, trashy daughter, who can't keep a job, and goes on a drunken, drug-fueled bender every other week. I'm 31. FML

If you're about about to go to college them most likely you are about 18-20 years old and most relationships at that age don't last, so take the money, invest in your future, in something that you know for sure will not be a waste of time, and just find a new girlfriend

I'm just waiting for the FML a year from now... "Today, my girlfriend dumped me. I've been working two jobs to save up for my tuition since my parents refused to pay it if I stayed with her. FML" Maybe she's the love of your life, but if you're about to start college you're 18 and life changes a lot over the next few years... think about this carefully.

Think about it, you probably will break up with her sometime. And if you went to university then you would have a good education, and you might even meet someone there.
