Today, I learned how my cat's flea medicine works. Instead of killing the fleas, it just makes the fleas move off of the animal. The good news is my cat no longer has fleas. The bad news is, the fleas moved into my bed. FML

I think you need to find a different flea medicine for your cat. And maybe you should buy yourself a flea collar.

they'll die quickly from the lack of blood - any medicine that killed the fleas immediately would also have significant danger of killing you cat pretty quickly too (why most vets only sell Advantage). And regardless of what flea meds you use, you were going to have to wash your bedding and vaccuum the floor anyway so no biggie. Plus human blood kills fleas so any that bit you are dead by now

Ugh, that sucks. FYL indeed. I personally use Frontline for my dogs and cat.. Sure, it's kind of expensive, but it's very effective and it takes care of more than just fleas. Good luck getting the fleas out of your apartment!

Are you hairy? Fleas live on hairy animals. If you are hairy I would say that you should buy an anti flea suit or get your self k9advantix! Works on dogs so it should work for you my hairy friend! If you are not hairy just wash the sheets and wear lots of clothing and they will ignore you.?

That sucks. Here's a great way to get flees out of your carpet. Put a bowl of soapy water on the floor with a bright light shining over it at night when everything's dark. The fleas jump toward the light and fall into the soapy water. Then the next morning you can check to see how infested that area is and continue until they're gone. Good luck.

This is fake. Anyone in the veterinary field knows that Frontline and similar flea-killing products are neurotoxins that cause the flea's brain to go haywire and then shut down. They do a cute little "dance of death" before they die. Flea treatments DO kill fleas. That is their purpose. This FML is nonsense.

A) flea collars are shit. and B) the cat's flea medication (probably something like frontline? a liquid you apply between the shoudlers on the skin?) kills adult fleas. you still have flea eggs around your house that will hatch.

Not that I clicked ydi, but for those that did, there reason was probably either: a) he didn't get flea medication which actually killed the fleas b) he didn't read that it only makes the fleas move off the animal, and let the cat near his bed c) he did read that it only makes the fleas move off the animal, and still let the cat near his bed
