Today, I met with my realtor to close on a house for my boyfriend and me. While waiting for my boyfriend, I got a text message from him saying he was breaking up with me. I had already signed the papers on our house. Now I'm responsible for a mortgage that I can only afford with his help. FML

Never take a mortgage you can't afford on your own. That's just asking for problems. What if you guys did stay together and one of you lost their job?

Oh my God! That's so ******* tactless of him! FYL. That guy's a douche, you're better off without him. Maybe you can find a nice roommate?

may constitute a breach of oral contract on his part.

YDI for not being married to him. Very stupid on your part. I'm not saying that you can't live together before getting married. I'm not even saying that you have to get married, but you should have had a little insurance and assurance before you dove head first into buying a house with this man. Sucks to be you.

She can't afford a mortgage and you dumb asses want her to go to court... get an attorney... tie up funds for months... on a case, that at best, she has a 50% chance of losing? If she wants justice, she should invest pop his kneecaps with a hammer.

Uhm, how long were you with this guy? Breaking up by text? Whats wrong with people.

YDI for not getting married before you move in together.

You know, I never had an answer for the question of why someone would get married outside of religious reasons. I think I just found the answer. Sometimes legally binding relationships have purposes.

You always have at least 3 days to back out of any contract (by law). It's probably not too late to get out of it!

Real estate transactions work differently. There are costly implications here.
