Today, I met with my realtor to close on a house for my boyfriend and me. While waiting for my boyfriend, I got a text message from him saying he was breaking up with me. I had already signed the papers on our house. Now I'm responsible for a mortgage that I can only afford with his help. FML

Never take a mortgage you can't afford on your own. That's just asking for problems. What if you guys did stay together and one of you lost their job?

Oh my God! That's so ******* tactless of him! FYL. That guy's a douche, you're better off without him. Maybe you can find a nice roommate?

I would be seriously pissed if I had all my stuff in a moving van and the sale of my house fell through because of a couple of flakes.

umm... the fact that he wasn't there wasn't a major clue?!? I mean isn't buying a house a major event for any individual/couple that both parties would be present?

you should talk it out with him, not taking his back, but, hes probably just freaked out because this is such a huge step. thats still no excuse, though.

What's up with dick boyfriends nowadays?

YDI YDI YDI Why would you enter into a 30 year commitment of that magnitude with someone you are not serious with? Why would you sign before he is there? Why would you over extend yourself like that? You should *never* get a mortgage that a single person could not cover, it's just common sense!

#64 sounds like a smart 15 year old. Or a 30 year old who's never had a really for real girlfriend. Sure, there have probably been chances to figure out that he wasn't going to sign the mortgage. "Why would you sign before he is there?"....really?

holy crap what a doucher but you probably should have waited until he was there

YDI for entering into a 30-year commitment you couldn't handle on your own. If you needed two people to pay for it, that was just stupid of you- what if one of you lost your job or couldn't pay for some other reason? You'd still be screwed. Idiot.

why the **** did you sign the papers before he got there? YDI idiot.

You cannot afford the payment yourself, yet apparently did not have him cosign. You took out a mortgage you cannot afford. Well, no problem if home prices keep going up and credit standards stay low. Now let me start reading this pile of newspapers I haven't got to since 2007...
