Today, I met with my realtor to close on a house for my boyfriend and me. While waiting for my boyfriend, I got a text message from him saying he was breaking up with me. I had already signed the papers on our house. Now I'm responsible for a mortgage that I can only afford with his help. FML

Never take a mortgage you can't afford on your own. That's just asking for problems. What if you guys did stay together and one of you lost their job?

Oh my God! That's so ******* tactless of him! FYL. That guy's a douche, you're better off without him. Maybe you can find a nice roommate?

#2 is right. Lesson learned I hope.

Take him to court. You may be to get out of the lease or, at the very least, force him to pay.

That really, really sucks; but what possessed you to sign the papers without him if it was going to be his house too? You should definitely try to get out of that contract. I bet there are legal loopholes within like the first 24 hours or something. Call a lawyer ASAP.

....big ******* deal you had just signed it, you aren't stuck there for life. I'm sure they will let you out of it. And an apartment might have been a more logical step for you and your BOYFRIEND.

you must not have any one in your life to give yousage advice cuz it's a huge mistake to sign ANY papers with someone that you aren't married with. but a house is the biggest mistake. maybe you can flip it as for #16: plastic isn't natural. you can't live without it. so that's a stupid defense for being a narrow minded, ignorant, self centered bigot. the fact of the matter is that it Is natural. for them.

lmao honestly i dont mean to sound rude or mean i really mean it but your a "****** idiot" honestly i dont mean to be mean... NEVER I MEAN NEVER SIGN YOUR NAME ON ANYTHING... EXSPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE TO DEPEND ON SOMEONE ELSE TO MANAGE IT...it never works out good... honestly if you were my friend i would of told you dont do it.... boyfriend husband w.e. dont do it man because when the shit hits the fan and you break up they dont give a shit what happens to you... i could never do that to a girl even if we breakin up that some messed up shit exspecially in thise economy your probably going to be stuck wit crazy payments until some other fool buys it from you... gosh i feel bad for you shit...

Hope it's a big house because now you're renting out rooms!!! Hey, roommates can be fun at any age =)

OP, it's called RENTING. And, if they'd been together for 10 years, why didn't they just get married lol

You know, it'd be really easy to call your boyfriend a heartless SOB, but frankly, why did either of you think that *purchasing* a house, with a mortgage and all, was a good idea if you were just dating? I mean. Wow. He may be an ass, but you're very unwise. YDI.
