Today, I needed to pay off a $35 parking ticket. To try and get some sort of revenge, I went to the bank and got 3,500 pennies, dumped them into a bucket, and refused to pay with anything besides the pennies. They called the police. I was arrested and cited $147. FML

Ok so here is an update, they canceled my $147 fine because I was using 100% legal us tender. However in order to pay off the $35 in pennies they had to either be rolled by the bank or I had to count them 1 by 1, so I rolled 'em.

What on earth for? What did they cite you with? There's no violation of any law civil or criminal there...

A bucket full of pennies is a perfectly legitimate way to pay. They are legal tender. An idiotic way to pay would be like with sticks of gum.

Reminds me of a video I watched on break.com about some guy paying an $80 dollar ticket in pennies. They called the police but they said they had to accept it cause it IS real money, no matter what form it's in. Anyway, that sucks that you didn't.

The OP copied this from a real story of a man who poaid his medical bill all in pennies in Utah, U.S.A. look it up, you'll see... Desperate plee for attention I suppose.

Big brother always gets the last laugh. The only wau you can beat them is to move out of the country (then it is just another big brother) or die (but then your just passing on the problem to your benifactors).

Just hope the bank has 14,700 pennies

very clever!! haha i would have wanted tos see. but tru"money is money!"

You got revenge. It was only your fault after all

You know, that's just a douchebag move. The people you were trying to punish by doing this had nothing to do with your parking ticket. Next time, be a complete idiot and egg the officer's car or something. At least he's the one responsible (you know, next to you, the idiot who parked in a no parking zone) for the ticket.
