I have slept on this, and I feel the need to opt for a new perspective... I think her career could actually benefit from it, now that she has the experience. It might not be so bad, she's gone through it all! However, I do find it weird for her not to have gone through marriage counselling herself, and if she had and it hadn't worked out, well how could she have faith in her own practice? Food for thought.

Now you can relate to your patients what it's like to be divorced and its downside. Maybe it'll help them fight harder for their marriage when they realize how difficult it could be?

oh the irony - however maybe you'll be able to provide more experience and actually give some proper advice. many marriage counselors have never been in a close-to-divorce moment in their life and can hardly understand those whom they're trying to help.
