Today, I overheard my 14-year-old daughter telling her friend that she's saving money to get her hymen surgically removed so her first time won't hurt. FML

Because the surgery won't hurt afterwards...

Time to have the talk with your daughter... And if that doesn't work, tell her that all surgeries like that require the doctors to get permission from parents no matter the age, and that she's going to have to wait for some years to come until she came have her first time.

Not to be the weirdo here... But uh... I think it's time to educate your daughter on sex and the body. Good luck☺️

I hope you took that as a great initiative to talk to her about sex and her anatomy and such.

Kids say the darnedest things...

Wow. That doesn't even make sense. Surgery is more painful than sex, and surgery is a huge deal. Tell her to buy a tampon or ride a horse.

Or that you need to learn about basic biology. Tampons are not remotely the size of penises, and have nothing to do with hymens. Which don't tear or break but stretch during sex.

110- It can break or tear if you go too fast/rough and aren't lubricated enough. But yeah, it isn't supposed to.

all those comments about being too young... puberty pretty much disagrees with all those statements... its the bodys way of saying its ready, also why you are so horny. only thing we can do as adults is educate on being safe and giving them the proper information on what to expect and responsibilities associated with sex.

At least you know she's still a virgin

In this day and age they get comprehensive sex education from the internet.

at least she is still a virgin and knows that the hymen has something to do with sex ( for the first time) , which is more than what most older people can say . sex talk is definitely called for
