Today, I placed a Bible app next to an app I use for porn, in the hope that it will encourage me to watch less porn. I'm a girl. FML

**** can take you down to a whole nother world. Get away from it

the bibal apps not going to help though...

You go, OP! Watching adult **** is nothing to be ashamed of :)

Hiya OP, i haven't read the comments before yours because there are so many! I'm a female Christian and perhaps my "holiness" sensitivites have dulled, but not all of us are cut out for a celibate life. And whether married or not, i think it's alright to **********, watch **** & read erotica so long as you don't need it or are dependent on it. Which means that if it's time to go for prayer meetings, we don't skip prayer meetings or services or mass to watch ****. And **** shouldn't make us late! Capisce? To some Christians, I may be an example of a hypocrite. I.E. a murderer washing his hands before he goes to church. But there's a difference. I pray that I will not be bound by **** or sex or whatever base need, be it lust for food and that slowly or miraculously, my bondage to **** will dwindle to something that i can choose to pick up or set down. So when i pray, I do not pray knowing that i will sin again and feel guilty, but i pray for the work of the Holy Spirit to give me the strength to focus on the things God wants me to focus my talents on building God's kingdom which is pulled together by the grace of God and blood of Jesus Christ. Because in Christ, there is no condemnation, yet it is also right to know that sexual fulfilment was ordained by God to be within marriage.

Judging by a few of the comments, I'd say there's a bit of a double standard here: if OP were a guy, would he be getting as much support and reassurance for a **** addiction? People seem to have some idea that when a guy watches ****, it's just a dirty habit, but when a girl watches it, she's expressing her sexuality. This is not the only place I've seen this idea in effect. Has anyone else noticed this?

IGaveRickUp 15

It's all in a perspective of privilege. Guys are the more privileged than women and through growing up, they're sexuality is always considered more normal than the sexuality of women. Most women doesn't even know they have the 'right' to watch ****, while guys learn from a very young age. Since this girl didn't really seem to get that she could be normal, and STILL watch ****, a lot of people then explained it to her. Of course people would tease OP if OP were a dude, but it wouldn't seem abnormal in many people's eyes that a guy was horny. Therefore, it would be a less sensitive subject to make fun of. Of course, that's just my point of view.

People are reassuring OP because (speaking very generally here) when men watch **** it's normal and when women do it it's weird, dirty, gross, perverted, bad, etc. We're not "ladylike" if we watch ****. But if a dude doesn't watch it it's almost (for lack of better word) bad, sometimes. You gotta be manly, you know, watch **** and all that. **** is good for men, but a total no-no for women apparently. That's why they are reassuring women, because there's really no need to reassure men. You men already know that it's okay, just don't go overboard and it's fine. It's normal. Your hormones, urges. But women are made to feel disgusted by it, they aren't comfortable with their own body and sexual urges because of society. Of course it's becoming more acceptable, little by little, but it's still not the norm for women to freely admit they watch **** like men do. It has nothing to do with attention-seeking like you mentioned in a past comment. I think OP is a little brave for admitting it on such a big website like FML where this will be viewed many, many times. But it's good, because if another woman with similar problems sees this, perhaps she will feel better about herself and her body.

I doubt she has an addiction. Just a healthy sex drive.

People don't think it's weird or gross for a woman to watch ****. Just look at the comments--people never think that. It's all in our heads. In fact, when females watch ****, it's hot and "embracing her sexuality." When guys watch ****, it's usually not a big deal, and when it is, it's considered gross. Practically no one thinks it's hot for a guy to watch ****, and practically no one thinks it's gross for a girl to watch ****. Get it?

As long as it's not addiction, i think anyone is free to watch ****, within moderation, without it being a problem

Ah, the wonderful world of stereotypes. Luckily they don't fit everyone. For example, my boyfriend does not watch ****. He has magazines, but they have not moved a hair since I have known him (except when he took them out of his truck). I don't even know why he still has them, as they are just sitting in the bottom of his closet.

Just because you are a girl you shouldn't be ashamed by watching ****. That being said, I'm still putting YDI on this for thinking that putting a Bible app next to the **** will actually stop you. Should never mix religion and ****...

Kristoffer 35

IMO religion has no place in life, period.

But what about sexy lesbian nun ****??? Those are awesome! ;)

I don't know, if you like torture ****, maybe you should check out the Old Testament.

Delete the **** application? And you could download a online watching application for accountability...

Does this scream to anyone else that she's just trying to show off that she's a girl and watches ****?

QueenOrangeSoda 21

Yes! That's what I thought at first. In fact, you could scroll up to see my previous comment on the matter.

There is nothing wrong with you watching ****. We are all Humans, and with needs.

We're all humans with needs? Is **** such a problem now that it qualifies as something we NEED in our daily lives to function? What happened to the imagination?

TheDrifter 23

**** isn't the need, it's just a time saver for when you're taking care of certain needs solo.

There is noting wrong with watching ****. The Bible never outright says it's wrong, people just assume it is because of how they interpret a few verses. Even if the Bible does say it's wrong, that does not necessarily mean it is.

_TheAtheist_ 10

Well of course not. Afterall, the Bible also says that taking the Lord's name in vain is wrong, and punishable by death (Leviticus 24:16). So is working on the sabbath, also punishable by death (Exodus 31:15). So is cursing one's parents, again punishable by death (Exodus 21:17). What a moral book!

TheDrifter 23

I'd point out that you have the punishments wrong, but your username says your opinion isn't open to discussion.
