hard to believe..... you have to know how to throw a boomerang and you have to throw it up into the sky and at an angle for it to curve and come back. Also not all boomerangs are made the same. If this was a simple tourist-y boomerang it would never come back, unless it was specifically a "hunting" boomerang. Aboriginies use boomerangs to kill kangaroos etc, and seriously you didn't see it coming back towards you?

well the ultimate frisbee part of your story is irrelevant because the boomerangs are thrown a completely different way. playing some disc makes you in no way more elligible to throw a boomerangXD

This person must have been lucky enough to throw the correct angle into the wind, with the correct spin, with the boomerang angled correctly and having thrown it with the correct angle to the horizon with slightly less than the right amount of power (based on the wind), so that it came back to hard. I agree with #18 that perhaps they threw it like a frisbee and then it would fly up and come back down quickly. That might be plausible, however, it doesn't fit in with the story of her throwing it and it coming back, the story sounds like it is a good throw.
