#182 - For a lot of women, the menstrual cycle does interfere with daily life. Some women get PMDD and have severe mood, emotion, and physical issues. Some women have a very heavy period which causes them to have to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes. Some women have endometriosis and/or ovarian cysts that cause them to experience extreme, paralyzing pain. So contratulations if your period is an afterthought for you - not all women are so fortunate.
#182 FINALLY someone who has some brains. Why should a little blood ruin your wedding night?! I've had sex while on my period before, without using condoms or female condoms or any kind of crap and we did it in the bed and not the shower...it's NOT that big of a deal. Plus when I'm turned on/having sex while on my period I BArELY bleed any while doing it...and I've heard from many women that it's the same for them. On the other hand I would also suggest using a tampon AND wearing a pad...that way your pad won't get too messy and it's not that disgusting for your friend to change it, you won't sit in a huge mess of blood, which would be a little nasty for your husband with all the dried blood, unless you plan to shower after the wedding and before having sex... And to whoever said that thing about TSS...you don't get TSS just from leaving in your tampon a little too long every now and then...I've frequently left mine in for more than 4 hours because they weren't full yet and removing them would have hurt. I've been using tampons for 8 years now, I never had TSS...
why does everyone think OP should be on birth control?!
ever heard of the pill?! Plan your periods dammit
#222 you're hilarious. "I've been using tampons for 8 years now, I never had TSS." That's because if you did have TSS you wouldn't be alive anymore, lol. TSS is very rare (about 1 in a million) but it does happen. Also on the first day of your period you would need to change the tampon at least once and I would NOT want my friend going up there. OP that really sucks I feel for you; we've all had our moments. At least you know you can't get pregnant on the honeymoon!
I can imagine how much this would for some people... but it could be kind of nice to take things slowly and cuddle for a few days. She'll have the rest of her life to have sex, and I'm sure that's not the only thing she loves her husband for. And, she COULD still do something sexual that's not really sex - or just have sex anyway. Also, her best friend is AMAZING and they must be really close. I have put my best friend's tampon in before, and I'd do pretty much anything for her in a heartbeat. Nothing's really too awkward if you really love each other. I agree that the pad/tampon thing is her choice, though... and totally understand how she couldn't stop her period from starting right before her wedding.
Wow, that sucks! Do you have a regular flow? If you do, I don't understand how you ended up planning your wedding day when you would have your period. If you don't then I totally understand, and that's very unfortunate. Don't let it ruin your night though! There are other fun things you can do ;)

that's why you go on birth control so that you can use it to safely delay or skip your period. it's part of wedding planning 101.
It likes to come at the worst possible moments. This is going to sound gross but, if you and your new husband want to do the deed, use a female condom. And hey, at least you know your bestfriend is a true friend!
