Today, I switched from pads to tampons. It took me several botched attempts trying insert one before I succeeded, and now I feel like I've just raped myself. FML

"**** yourself!" is only a phrase, don't take it too literally!

Tell me about it, putting a tampon in my penis felt so unnatural at first :/

That's why I'm not using tampons any time soon.

If you use slim ones with plastic applicators it hurts a lot less then cardboard ones. She was willing to use one so it's not actually like she raped herself she most likely just had a hard time since she put it in at a wrong angle.

Maybe she put it in the wrong hole?

The first time I used a tampon it took me an hour, literally, and most of it was pep talk.

Yea but not everyone's vag is the same. Some are tighter and it hurts more. Some people's will take longer than others to insert. It just depends on how you do it.

You're doing it wrong. I mean, I was afraid to use them for such a long time... but honestly, they're so easy.. and SO much more comfortable.

She may or may not be doing it wrong. Everyone is different and some girls don't like using Tampons. The first time I used a tampon it was so utterly painful that I had to take it out again 20 minutes later. The fact that you would assume everyone has the same tastes and comforts as you shows how ignorant you are...No offense.

If tampons are comfortable, there's something seriously awkward going on. I have a bleeding disorder so I have to use both a pad and a tampon and, no matter how long I've used a tampon, it feels just as weird each time

If your tampon was giving you pain after you had inserted it, you either didn't push it up far enough or it was the wrong size. Or you could have inserted it at a wrong angle which I know is very painful. But either way, if you insert it correctly, you won't be able to feel it at all.

I wasted about 20 when I first started tampons cuz sadly I got cardboard applicators and we all know you have to practically wedge those kind in.

I just go with OB. no applicator was way easier for me.

See, I started on the plastic and then one day I accidentally bought the cardboard ones (I was in a hurry) and Ive regretted it ever since

I don't even know why they make applicators out of cardboard...

shut up you'll get use to it and stop making it sound worse then it is

28- is an assholeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

Someone has their tampon stuck in the wrong hole.

I don't ******* knooooow (Go to YouTube and watch Leo and Stan videos if you don't get it)

it's ok I was the same way. it took me like a week of trying before I finally got it. and the first couple times it hurts but when you finally get used to it you will be sooooo happy they are SO much more comfortable than pads.

It can take lots of attempts before you get the hang of it, but once you do you'll be so glad you ditched the pads! It helps if you just insert your finger first so you get the right angle etc. And if you can't do it the first time, take a break and come back to it later.
