By first time at McDonald's in months... - 27/03/2013 05:04 - United States

Today, I was at McDonald's. As I left the counter with the food, I heard the cashier mutter, "Fat ass." I turned around and demanded to see the manager. Once he came and heard the situation, he looked at me and said, "Well, it's not like he's wrong, right?" FML

I think it was the 4 Big Macs, 3 large fries, 8 apple pies, and 2 ice creams that tipped them off. Oh, and the Diet Coke.

No matter how big OP’s order really was and no matter whether OP is obese or not, the comments by the cashier and his manager were simply unprofessional.

You know what pisses me off about this most? We don't know OP and the employee did neither. Maybe OP is quite the big one. But maybe he/she has an eating disorder or something. And calling someone fat will not help them, at all.

You should have said, "well i'm not the one working here..."

I know many who work/ worked there because of their flexible hours, including myself while in the military. Why you may ask, because it's a part time job that puts a little Christmas cash in your pocket and doesn't interfere with your day to day.

That has nothing to do with weight....

The ëmployee should be fired on the spot and his manager too. Unprofessional behaviour. Absolutely no employee and no manager should do that and if they do, they should be punished. But how... yes, even the manager has his boss and the boss should punish his/her subordinates, so OP should report the bstards to their corporate office ASAP.

I can't help but laugh at all the down votes and moderation on this one. So many people thinks it's ok to be a......... Unhealthy weight and yet wrong to point out OP deserved it for allowing themselves to get to this..... Unhealthy weight. Eating healthy is very easy to be honest, personally I haven't had a coke in what five years, haven't had fast food in a long while either. Work long hours on a daily basis and still have time to conduct physical training and go to the gym. All it takes is a personal dedication to yourself and a wanting to live longer to be with your family. (If anything in this offends you please let me know by an actual response. The thumbs down is merely an extension of this laziness which I just spoke of.)

I don't care if the OP is the size of Jabba the Hut. There is NO excuse for being unprofessional and rude.

Yes it was wrong of them to be unprofessional, but seriously how much time do you have on your hands that you would be able to spend time contacting corporate MCDONALDS like everyone is suggesting. I really hope you have more of a life than that

Seriously, even if OP is big, how does this dumbass have the right to insult them? This is someone who works in a fast food restaurant and is serving fattening food to people ALL DAY FOR A LIVING. It doesn't matter if someone is skinny, average sized or overweight, you don't get to comment on someone's physical appearance while serving them food, it's downright rude and unprofessional. If they want to insult people who eat McDonalds, they shouldn't be working there.

Basic human rights. We all have a right to make observations just as you just did.

I work at McDonald's and if anyone at my store said anything like that they would be penalized immediately. At least at the one I work at, there is a ZERO tolerance policy. The customer isn't always right, but the customer is still the CUSTOMER. And without them I would have no job.

The customer is always right, but then again they aren't and you always have to treat them like they are

Ok so I work at McDonalds. For starters the people on here bashing people for working there, not everyone is an uneducated moron, to be honest I work with a lot of people (myself included) who are just down on their luck and that job is better than no job. It may seem easy but it's not, you get paid hardly anything to deal with rude people constantly looking down on you. I've been spit on, had drinks thrown at me, cussed out, and even had a few death threats...you know why? almost all of them were because some burger wasnt made just right. Not to mention at our store an employee has to stand outside and take orders no matter how hot or cold it is outside. I have a severe bee allergy, I will die if I get stung and I still have to do it or the owner himself will throw a fit. I'm not saying that the employee was right, they were both rude and should get in trouble. However us "losers" dont burst out of the womb being cheerful about putting up with as much as we do, so please people be a little considerate, within reason of course. And to the person who was insulted, i'm so sorry this happened to you no one deserves that. Keep your chin up, and dont take one persons rudness to heart.
