Today, I was driving on the freeway when I get a call from my friend explaining that our two best friends died in a car accident. I pulled over in hysterics and a cop came to see what was wrong. I explained what happened and he gave me a ticket for talking on the phone while driving. FML

Today, I was driving on the freeway when I saw a car in front of me swerving across 3 lanes of traffic. Thinking he might be drunk, I dialed 911 on my phone, but I dropped it. I fished under my seat to get it, swerving, and got pulled over by highway patrol and given a field sobriety test. FML

Today, I had to explain to a cop that the reason I was speeding was because my girlfriend was in the hospital due to a car accident. He was working the accident just ten minutes before and saw me leave behind the ambulance. He still gave me a ticket. FML

Today, I saw a car swerving in front of me on the freeway, so I whipped out my cell to report the DUI. As soon as it started ringing, I see police lights in my rear view and got slapped with a ticket for using a cell phone while driving. After explaining why, the officer said, "Nice try." FML

Today, I lost control of my vehicle while driving. The car went off the road, rolled over, and ended up being totaled. The policeman asked me if I was alright and I said I was. He seemed relieved at my answer. Then he handed me a $300 ticket for failing to maintain my lane. FML

I had to vote YDI, for the simple reason that using the cell phone with driving is criminally negligent, dangerous, and the cause of so many accidents, some of them fatal. Having lost two friends in a car accident should make the responsibility of driving even more real. It isn't a right, and it isn't something to take lightly. You're fully controlling a two ton missile at extremely high speeds around other people. That sort of task demands your full attention 100% of the time. Even using speakerphone or bluetooth can distract a driver enough to affect their abilities. A few days ago I was almost hit at freeway speeds by a girl who didn't turn when the freeway did because she was busy using her cell phone. The dangers are very real.

kay wtf. it's not fake. the ones who died, they were my best friend's cousin's best friends. another friend of the ones who died killed themself because of the deaths. so to all you guys who said YDI: go **** yourselves. so sorry for your losses

Anybody who said YDI makes me want to shoot myself. If talking on a cell phone is really THAT dangerous, don't you think it would be illegal everywhere? She obvisouly did the responsible thing and pulled over when she became hysterical because she wasn't in any condition to drive. Deffinately didn't deserve the ticket and I'm so sorry for your loss!
