FYL for losing your friends, but YDI for the ticket. you wouldnt have gotten the ticket if you followed the law and called back when you were off the car. i dont know why everyone thinks the cop should have let her go, is it okay to break the law if your friends died? besides, it was before she even knew about their death she picked up the phone and broke the law. the cop was just doing his job.
Nope, I have done plenty of illegal and hazardous things. I also take responsibility for them if I get busted or cause harm. The OP should learn to do the same.
You weren't driving you were pulled over?
it is possible that your two friends died in a car accident involving someone talking on a mobile phone. perhaps you should have pulled over before answering the phone. i can't feel sorry for you because i hate people who talk on their phones while driving. you'll end up hurting yourself or someone else.
Oh you poor baby :( My condolences with you and your friend. Although cops are great, that was definitely a shitty thing for him to do.
Aw, hun, I'm so sorry for your losses. That's horrible.
Driving whilst talking on the phone doesn't magically become any safer because you're getting important bad news. The OP deserves that ticket 100%. Here's a thought; she had to pull over because she was too upset to continue. That surely means that, for a short period between recieving the call and pulling over, there was a "hysterical" upset woman driving a vehicle at highway speeds, presumably with one hand off the wheel holding the phone (I assume she wouldn't get a ticket if it was on hands-free speakerphone). Doesn't sound safe, does it?
You didn't know it was going to be bad news when you answered, did you? So it's a YDI, it would be a different situation if you'd known about a dying friend or relative and expecting the call. Sorry about your friends though, but just cowboy-up and the ticket.
Oh for **** sake, if your two best friends died you wouldn't be off making a FML about it the same day. Get a life.
