Today, I was fiddling around with the thermostat at my new place. For a laugh, I twisted the knob all the way to 40° celsius, when it snapped off. I don't have a clue how to fix it. FML
I agree, your life sucks 9 007

...O_o that's a laugh?! Oh OP D: *pats sympathetically*

Guess you won't be spending too much time at your new place in the near future.

I bet you aren't laughing now, at least until your face thaws...

Ahhh the old Fahrenheit/Celsius mixup. Classic(;

HouseElf- *hands clothing* your welcome ^_^

I don't think it will be getting cold. *drop of sweat falls*

My bad! Im sorry I crowded this post with ignorance.

#56 - FYI, 40 degrees Celsius equals 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

Actually steve, it doesn't. Its just under 130

Oh, because everything on the Internet is correct? Above there is a post, #81, that has the calculations. It's 129.6 degrees farenhiet

I used a unit converter. It's 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

96- Actually, 104 is the correct answer. The formula is F=9/5C+32, which, if you plug in 40, for C is 104. What you did wrong was add the 32 first because 32+40=72(9/5) which does in fact equal 129.6

96, everything on the internet is NOT correct, obviously, like -your- chosen source.

His house would be 104 degrees

Celsius that's way above 100 Fahrenheit (about 125% the heat) and judging by the fact he said Celsius I'm guessing he's from Australia or New Zealand and we're going into summer

Crap my bad the numbers wrong but it's still dam hot

40°C not 40°F and even so that's still moderately warm

haha you just brought Mexico to your place dude... brutal haha

How hard did you twist it?! Haha, I also find it funny that of all things OP could play with in their new place, they chose the thermostat.

Thats pretty hot. I'd try superglue and duck tape, that always works for me. :D And no, I don't mean duct tape, I meant the shit I use to keep my ducks in their fancy little chicklet line up. Duck tape kicks ass.

You should just start a small bon fire in the middle of your living room to warm the house up. And while you're at it, you should invite a couple of friends over, kick back and drink a couple of beers! You're all set, my friend. Enjoy your Saturday! :)

LilliPage 17

OP won't be needing anything to warm up the house. He's got that covered.

Omfg. I'm such an idiot. Wow. I'm gonna go curl up in a ball and die now. Goodbye, everyone.

vElectrixx - If you aren't bright enough to do the conversion yourself, there are probably hundreds of online converters that'll do it for you. Go find one, see that 104 is correct, and then come back here to apologise.

Doc is right. You actually have to multiply by 9/5 first, then add 32. It makes a difference, trust me.

does it really matter only geeks with no lives.know that

...twisting the knob... That's a new one. No wonder it was so hot in there.

24- As I was reading this FML I just sort of paused on "I twisted the knob" and immediately made a bit of a freudian slip, then I saw your comment and felt better that I'm not alone :)
