Today, I was first in line at a stoplight. After five minutes, with a line of cars behind me, the light was still red. People behind me started honking, so I decided to just go. Halfway across the way, I was greeted by a camera flash. Nobody else went. FML

Your an idiot. That is the complete definition of road rage and you can go to jail for that, which is way worse than a red light ticket.

You're the idiot #66. You can't go to jail for honking your horn you dumbass. Road Rage is when you get pissed at someone and ram their car or cause them (somehow) to get into an accident or something. Sitting at another stoplight and honking your horn would at worst get you a simple ticket.

#83 your the idiot. #66 wasn't talking about honking their horn being road rage, he was referring to #12s post about tailgating someone. Tailgating is considered road rage and is illegal

also, you wouldnt get a ticket for honking

Nobody's fault but your own. Idiot.

Wow, self-righteous fools. The light obviously wasn't working properly, and I'm sure the OP would've made sure it was clear before he went

"The light obviously wasn't working"? How exactly did you come to that conclusion? When waiting for a red light, "five minutes" typically means "thirty seconds."

And how did you come to the conclusion that "'five minutes' typically means 'thirty seconds'"? Were you there? It's entirely possible that the light WASN'T working properly. I've been in that situation a couple of times, but I didn't go until I saw other people going.

ive seen red lights last up to 8 minutes. no lie.

You're not dumb. What you should have done is take a right when its safe, make a you-turn, and go on the road you needed. And if there is no turn on red, and the light flashed? Take it to court and fight it.

Make a "you-turn"? How do you make a "you-turn"? Do you turn around in your seat or something? I would like to know. And, at an intersection, making a U-turn on red could possibly be the dumbest shit ever. It takes much longer to do a completed U-turn and would be more dangerous especially if it's one lane each way, which it could be, than to carefully make your way across the intersection.

who moderated this crap in, traffic cam ticket? How will you F-ing live with your embarassing crime, STFU YDI

Erm... just throwing it out there... but isn't this site dedicated to embarassing moments... Maybe that's why it got in! Just sayin'

If you don't like what goes in, take the time to moderate, okay babycakes?

I *do* moderate, most of the stuff that gets approved I never saw. That includes some of the really baffling or obviously false ones, or ones that are clearly not FML's, and those leave me asking who moderated them, too. Sugarpie.

Today, you realised how seriously you take this site. FYL.

Should've went right (if it was legal, of course) and done a U-Turn. But going through a red light just because some assholes were honking at you (while it WAS a red-light), doesn't mean you should go. Peer pressure is not worth a ticket. Dumb move on your part.

Dumbass. They weren't honking at you because it was your fault that no one was moving, they were honking at the light (as if that would do anything but people are stupid). So way to go. Enjoy your ticket.

It was pretty stupid to go through the red light, but I do understand "driver's peer pressure." It makes me so uncomfortable when other driver's flip out at me when the situation is out of anyone's control. I wouldn't have gone through the light, but I can understand why someone would do it. Just don't make the same mistake again later.

Oh ****. There's a light around that at night time LITERALLY TOOK OVER 15 MINUTES TO TURN GREEN. IT'S ALWAYS GOING AT AN ODD TIME OF CHANGING. Luckily we were able to merge onto another road and go away instead of waiting. But once we did, we pulled to the side to see how long it would take to change. Ydi, thought I feel bad for you. If they DID feel mad, one of them would have attempted driving around everyone to run the light

Haha a few months ago, there was this bike race in my town and they had to use police to direct traffic instead of the stoplights. Well the officers let all the other lanes except for ours go--for 9 minutes. I sat through 3 songs on the radio with commercials before I finally got to go. They literally just ignored our lane for that long....

If he was on a motorcycle then it might be because the device that tells the lights to change colors doesn't detect motorcycles because they don't have enough metal. I know when my dad rode his motorcycle in Maryland as long as he actually stopped and waited a bit it was okay for him to go because some of the lights just wouldn't change.
