Today, I was getting my first tattoo done. My parents told me it was a bad idea. My friends' parents told me it was a bad idea. I told them that people get tattoos done all the time and nothing goes wrong. 50 min into the tattoo on my back, the artist says "Oh shit, shit, shit. We can fix this." FML

The tattoo is on my shoulder blade, and it's a Celtic knot that I drew up myself. The artist was filling in the shading in the knot after finishing the outline when he started filling in an area on the wrong side of the line. He ended up fixing it so the design came out symmetrical, and it looks really good. No regrets and no worries.

Yeah, bad idea... sounds like if you try it again you should do a little research to figure out the best tattoo parlor in your area...

Wow, if that man wasn't joking then FYL big time. A tattoo is a GREAT thing and definitely NOT a BAD idea - you just need to find a right place to have it done in.

Tattoos aren't something you should **** around with. You should really only be going to a tattoo place where you've seen other people wear their work. If they've had a good professional experience with them, then that's what you want. There's nothing wrong with tattoos. Sometimes though, the artist isn't the best, there's a reaction with the ink, you get something stupid/regrettable. But that doesn't make them bad. But, if they can fix it, does it really matter? Not like you spelled Sara with an h.

I can't say you deserve it because you were right, people get tattooed all the time and they're happy with the result. But what the hell happened to you? If you really didn't do any research then you do deserve it.
