Today, I was once again passed over for a promotion. I'm now the assistant to a kid who has failed to meet almost every single responsibility he's been given before. It's my job to make sure he's successful, and if he isn't, I'll lose my job. FML

Talk to your boss about it. You could get a solution.

On multiple occasions at my work i have been tasked with keeping a superior from doing stupid things. It shows your responsible and dependable but not quite dumb enough to be a figure head for their system.

Sounds just like my job, almost this exact same situation thing happened to me..

Buy a paddle. Or a shock collar. It just may help. Discipline and tough love.

Is he your boss's nephew or something? As much as it sucks, I think its time to start job hunting.

If you are repeatedly passed up for a promotion it is because they don't view you as mature enough. You should ask what you have to do to be promotable.

put stuff in his water and make him sleep. That way you can't get blamed.

Am I the only one who suspects that maybe it's OP's own fault he hasn't been promoted? We all know that useless shit bag who feels entitled to things he hasn't earned and talks shit about everyone who surpasses him. I know a few of them, anyway. I'm not saying it's the case here, but it's possible.

Yeah, usually when a person is repeatedly passed over for promotion it's for a reason. Either they've made themselves irreplaceable in their current position or they're straight up not worthy. (It's usually the second one.)

Welcome to the real world. Life sucks and your higher ups don't give a crap. Deal with it. Get another job.

...I think they've figured those things out, Captain Obvious.
